1962 Chrysler Imperial. One of 826 made in two door for that year, as for how rare, I am not sure, all of them I have seen or talked to others about have had power windows and locks.-this one has manual windows, locks and seats. Has power steering, brakes, antenna as well as A\C. Washing state car now in Michigan and is very solid. Has been repainted in the original "dawn blue" not sure how long ago. I bought it with the intent to LS swap\resto-mod\lower it until I started to do some research into this beauty. I quickly realized that this car is special and needs to go to someone who will love it and bring it back to it's original glory. This car was made compete with the Caddys of that day at 19.6 feet long and almost 5000 lbs-it was the largest car made in 1962. No other year Imperial looks like this Any of the work that I have done can be undone to bring it back to original. I have not thrown anything away that has been removed. (see the picss of tables full of parts.
Details: the orig 413 big block had some type of internal issue and was partially torn down when I got it. The carb\intake\heads\ex manifolds were all missing. I pulled the 413 out (comes with the car) and replaced it with a low mileage 1977 440\rebuilt the starter, repaired radiator, bought the correct exhaust manifolds and converted to electronic ignition. New gas tank and sender also bought and installed. There are tons of trim pieces (not sure they are all for this car) and I have bought some things that I knew were missing (some hard to find stuff that I paid good money to get), has new carpet kit and headliner\extra headlights and tail lights. It does start\move (currently adjusting the push button shift linkage)\stop on its own. The wipers\lights\speedo\radio\A\C blower all work! The interior is out of it, but I believe that it is mostly there(those were some of the hard to find parts that I have bought). I have a clean\green Michigan tile and located in SW Michigan. It is not in the pics but I do have the hood ornament that was removed as not to get damaged. (see what the hood ornament like it is going for on Ebay-$9K!) If you'd like more info please call\[text 6164903356 in the evenings. I do have this car listed locally, so this sale can end at any time. Thanks for looking!
