Vehicle Details
Selling my late fathers 1971 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron. Runs and drives very well. Has the 440 with 102K miles on it. This car was purchased in 2016 from Washington state near Seattle. It had been parked into a garage since 1984 or 1986 I can't remember which exactly. Over the years the keys got lost and so did the title. Keys were made for it by a local to the area locksmith and thankfully the motor was not locked up so we purchased it and had it shipped down to Kansas City. While down here it was made to run. The timing chain/gears, water pump, and I believe alternator were all replaced in 2016. The brakes were gone through as well. Soon after we had to have the power brake booster rebuilt. It got rebuilt three times over the years with just a few months ago being the 3rd time.Mechanically the car needs not much. Currently the power windows are not working. The rear driver side window motor was disconnected last year to prevent it from being rolled down as it was starting to need help going back up. I have tried put in a N.O.S. power window relay in the fuse panel but that did not do the trick. The brakes work to stop the car however, the rear is not getting fluid to it. All brakes were working just fine before this 3rd brake booster rebuild. The 440 engine runs very strong and has plenty of power given the year it was built. There is an exhaust leak on the passenger side manifold. It is not too loud but is noticeable. The tires were purchased and installed new in 2017 and have barely been driven on. When it arrived it still had the old bias ply tires on it. The current tires do not show any signs of cracking but are almost 5 years old.The interior is in great condition. The leather seats are not ripped up but do show signs of age. They show very little cracking but are still pliable. The power seats do work. The dash lights do work. The speedometer does work but is not accurate. It bounces all over the place and when you go above about 40mph for over a minute it will start making a loud noise until you drop below 25mph. The radio doe not work and neither does the A/C or heat. The rear defroster motor does work but I don't believe it puts out any heat.I believe I have described the very accurately but could have forgotten things. Questions will answered to the best of my memory. The car does have a clean & clear title in my name and it is currently located in Lenexa, KS 66227. You may send a shipper after it or come get yourself or I may possibly be able to deliver it for an agreed price for delivery.Deposit of $500 is due within 48hrs of winning via paypal. Rest of payment can be cash in person upon pick up or a cashiers check. The vehicle is listed for sale locally so if it happens to sell I have the right to end this auction early.

Gateway Classic Cars Dallas is showcasing a 1955 Imperial Newport!
The Chrysler Imperial, introduced in 1926, was Chrysler's top-of-the-line vehicle for much of its history. Models were produced with the Chrysler name until 1954, and again from 1990 to 1993. The company positioned the cars as a prestige marque to rival Cadillac, Continental, Lincoln, Duesenberg, Pierce-Arrow, Cord, and Packard. The adjective 'Imperial' according to Webster's Dictionary means sovereign, supreme, superior or of unusual size or excellence. The word Imperial thus justly befits Chrysler's highest-priced model.
Exterior
With the exterior bathed in green and white, and overall still holds its shine. Chrome and trim are very good with little to no corroding or dimpling, and overall shiny. This holds true for the bumper's bezels, and rear high mounted taillights. Badging is slightly worn in the color areas, and bumper on the rear shows some corrosion and staining at the point where the exhaust comes through it. Big steel panels, and a wide trim spear with a rear quarter swoop is noted on both sides in good condition. 15-inch chrome wire wheels with faux spinners in the centers are mounted within wide whites all around.
Interior
A swing of the massive doors and we are swimming in a sea of tuck and roll, piping, and smooth white leather. The front split-bench is mounted in a large metal base that provides power back and forth for the driver. If the rear bench was not in this car it would be in my living room serving as my coach, it is that plush, and it has a pullout area rest. I also need to mention the door panels with their white uppers in wide vertical embossed stripes, and the lowers are a deep green with a metal thread pattern that drips 1955. Seen also are power window toggles within the door pull. Keeping in tune with the motif, the dash is a two-tone green and white, drivers' side in green with an instrument cluster of 2 circles. The bezels show slight corrosion but are indeed original. The dash is beautifully sculpted in a curved form and has a large radio speaker, a clock and Imperial in your grandmother's handwriting badge. A white headliner above nice and tight and deep green carpet below, and we are in 1955 luxury.
Drivetrain
A raise of the hood and we are greeted with the original 331ci Hemi engine topped with a 4-barrel carburetor. On the back is a 2-speed automatic Powerflite transmission which throws power back to 3.54 rear gears.
Drive-Ability
Just sitting inside this car we are in the lap of luxury and comfort. It started right up, idled smoothly, and took off with lots of Hemi 4-barrel power. It's a cruiser and provides a smooth ride. [ omitted ]. Please contact us anytime for more information or come to see the vehicle in person..
